David is passionate about guiding churches and faith-based nonprofits to grow disciples and fund ministry. He brings to every conversation the experience gained in over three decades of fruitful ministry as a lead pastor of two large and growing churches and consultant with over 100 faith-based engagements.
David is gifted at walking with leaders, within their ministry, to grow more and engaged disciples of Jesus to discover the joy found in generosity. He brings a heartfelt conviction that generosity most frequently occurs when there is a deep shift in church culture to cultivate encounters between the Holy Spirit and individuals leading to profound change in hearts and minds.
As an experienced guide, advocate, and collaborative partner, David helps leaders gain a clear picture of their current realities and discern and implement measurable next steps to bring about their preferred future.
Once clear vision, staffing, and ministry plans are in place and aligned, David artfully uses Horizons’ Integrated Funding Strategies to grow annual, capital, special, and planned giving. Each strategy recommended is based upon proven spiritual disciplines through which individuals wrestle with the biblical principles of generosity. The result is grace-filled giving, more engaged disciples, and fully funded ministry plans.
David has been married to his wife, Sue, for more than 30 years. He and Sue have three adult children, two sons-in-law, one grandchild, and a loved goldendoodle (which may be his wife's favorite child).
