Daniel Dennison

Senior Ministry Strategist

Daniel brings 15 years of senior executive leadership experience to the Horizons’ team serving as a Senior Ministry Strategist. Daniel is uniquely gifted with the heart and theological training of a Pastor and has the business acumen of a Chief Executive Officer.

Before joining Horizons, Daniel served as a large church Executive Pastor, where his strategic insights, leadership, and ability to design and implement critical systems resulted in the revitalization of the organization by deepening the spiritual engagement of its 6,000 members, creating a healthy culture in the staff of 80, and growing the financial resources to underwrite its expanding community and worldwide impact. Following a highly successful $13,500,000 capital campaign, Daniel’s leadership was instrumental in growing annual ministry giving by 20% over the next three years.

Following seminary, Daniel served as the Executive Director & Campus Minister of one of the largest and most vibrant college ministries in the nation. During his 10-year tenure, he reorganized and revitalized the board of directors, developed, and implemented a five-year strategic plan that included two transformative building expansions, led a $750,000 capital campaign, significantly grew annual ministry funding, and grew the staff from four to twenty.

He enjoys guiding churches in their discernment process as they embrace God’s vision to develop strategies and systems to make the vision become reality. With a rich background in fundraising and capital campaigns, board development, change management, HR, staffing, and project management, he brings a wealth of knowledge to any organization.

Daniel’s passion lies in assisting churches and nonprofits in achieving organizational health and long-term sustainability. His focus extends beyond the limelight, delving into the critical behind-the-scenes intricacies that often pose challenges for Pastors and Executive Directors. Daniel’s dedicated approach aims to fortify the foundations of the organizations he serves, ensuring they thrive and fulfill their mission.

Daniel and his wife, Mindy, have been married for 17 years and live in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They are proud parents of Ruth, McKenna, and Brick. They spend most of their free time helping their kids live their best lives-serving as personal chauffeurs, chefs, activities coordinators, and acquisitions agents (especially swim goggles).
